Yes U can claim deduction of Charitable donations only iff the entity to whom Donation is paid , is registered u/s 80G
by the jurisdictional Income Tax Commissioner .

Certainly there was no Co relation between standard ded and donation. Moreover the concept of std. ded. is no more now.
